Trientalis europaea, commonly known as Arctic Starflower or Chickweed Wintergreen, can be found in mountainous areas. These small flowers can either have 6 or 7 white petals. As the name suggests, the overall shape of the flower is reminiscent of a star.

The Arctic Starflower usually sports a single flower per plant. On the mountain slopes of Alaska, the plant with the flower stalk is rarely over 3 inches tall due to the arid conditions it has to endure.
