Veteran Musher Gerry Willomitzer is back to the Iditarod after dropping out of the race in 2011. unfortunately, this year Gerry also had to scratch from the race at the Unalakleet checkpoint. He had 12 dogs left on his team when he made the decision to abandon his bid to reach Nome.

The Canadian Musher has participated in a total of 6 Iditarods so far. He was first introduced in 2007 when he finished in 30th place.
