The crowd cheered when Aaron Burmeister, born and raised in Nome, crossed the finish line in 4th place, his best performance over the years. He completed the 1000 mile race in 9 days, 10 hours and 4 minutes, with 10 dogs left on his team. The 36 year old is a veteran Musher having participated in 13 Iditarods, starting in 1994 when he completed his rookie race.
