Iditarod Training for Jake Berkowitz

In preparation for the 2013 Iditarod, Jake Berkowitz and his dog team are seen diligently training in interior Alaska. It was a clear and beautiful day, but the temperature was barely hovering around 20 degrees below zero. It might feel cold for us humans, but these endurance dogs are adapted to the frigid temperatures.

As part of the training, the Iditarod dogs are pulling a truck instead of a loaded sled. There was only a few inches of snow which was quite unusual for this time of the year.

Berkowitz' Dog Team

During this session, Jake Berkowitz brought a large team of dogs to pull his truck. The dogs were in very good shape and were excited to train.
