2009 Iditarod - Rachael Scdoris

Musher Rachael Scdoris, from Bend, Oregon.

Rachael is 24 as she enters the 2009 Iditarod, her 3rd actual participation. She dropped out of the race in 2008 after 11 days on the trail, but this year, she finished in 45th place.

The toughest race on Earth is even tougher for Rachael. Just imagine going on a 1000 mile journey to Nome on a sled, with your eyes closed. Although it's not quite like that for Rachael, the analogy is close... In fact, Rachael is legally blind with a 20/200 vision.
